It will take these countries at least 50years, at the posted growth rates, to catch up with the size of the economy of this great country, Nigeria. |

Nigeria only relies on oil and you expect your economy to grow fast when oil prices has declined? Do you all notice there is no oil producing nation on the list. Until we diversify our economy will Nigeria witness real growth and not the growth you recorded on paper especially by the last administration. 1 Like |

deebsman1:IMF does not want to borrow you money. All they are asking for is for buhari to stop his voodoo economics. And yes, your economy is doing very poorly compared to other African countries. When was the last time Nigeria got a major foreign investment? Or you think economic growth falls from the sky? 3 Likes |

blueto: will my body get hurt if you read with your brain? the article stated clearly that Nigeria and Angola who have oil as their mainstay of their respective economies are experiencing similar dwindling in their GDP as a result of snowdive in oil price in the international markets.. Jonathan I knew,Buhari I know too, still I dont think this article was aimed at spurring more of financial growth interest or to feud political hatred among Nigerians but IMF's stubborness at making Nigeria to respond to calls for devaluation at her own peril.. if you are still there blaming Buhari for the economic woes that are befalling Nigeria as a nation, then deem it fit to look into those that had befallen Nigeria too. Both Jonathan and Buhari as well as ex-presidents are to be held responsible for where we are today..so stop singling one out all in the name of blame game.. selah |

Juxtified:What a display of arrogant idiocy. Naija first approached IMF for loan not the other way round. GMB and his cabinet threw a jamboree patty for Christine Largade when she visited Aso Rock and NASS. IMF gave conditions to give Naija loans. Ask you previous leaders what they did with IMF loans they had collected in the past! It wasn't IMF that opened offshore accounts where those funds had been stashed. Blame your leaders not IMF 5 Likes |

IMF is a bad gauge to measure economic growth, the only economic they know is for you to devalue your currency and borrow from them so you could be at their mercy and they begin to dictate how the government should be ran. |

How did the previous ratings help the common man during those years? Nigeria still borrowed to pay salaries Nigeria reserves still got depleted Dollar rose against the Naira It was still 1 dollar par day for average Nigerians There was still fuel scarcity Lacasera still sacked 700workers We still ran on budget deficit. I think we should start taking this ratings serious when it can be felt by the average Nigerians. Because definitely imf ratings hasn't epp Nigeria. The 2 Likes |
