DL-methionine has a history of more than 50 years of safe application. In the MetAMINO process for example all intermediates are completely converted and the final product is purified in a multi-step process ensuring reliable product quality which also means that MetAMINO is free of undesired substances. Future L-methionine processes have still to prove their capability to deal with the chemicals involved and to generate a safe product of reliable quality comparable to DL-methionine.

Animal Use 99% DL Methionine, one of essential amino acids and sulfur amino acids, is the first limiting amino acid in poultry, and probably also in high-yielding cows, and is the second or third limiting DL- Methionin 99% Amino Acids in pigs fed convertional diets.
