Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and indeed, all cadres of healthcare workers in the Medical Village, Ondo took to the streets in a peaceful demonstration to protest the non-payment of salaries for the past 5 months.
The aggrieved workers also used the opportunity to publicize the owed salaries, as there had been a curious media silence on the state of workers' welfare and remunerations before then,
They were received at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo, HRM Oba Kiladejo, who addressed the workers and implored them to be patient until ongoing negotiations yielded a lasting solution.

Moderators, please let people know the true state of things in Ondo State

What the F*ck? Five months? That's cruel. But the governor and top government officials get theirs on time.

Protest won't solve anything. Just go on indefinite strike.

Power of brown envelope journalism which Aregbe probably hasn't mastered which is why it took PDP"s Ondo & Bayelsa, [b]5mths owed salary before it became public knowledge...

Firefire, Anonimi & co won't show face nah..

A few days ago on a thread about the Ondo State Government signing a deal for the exploration of Bitumen in the State when I said 'if only people know the height of wickedness and deception the government of Ondo State thrives on...', some quoted me abusively and some, out of inquisitiveness. I'm glad this is coming out now. This is just one of the many atrocities the government is perpetrating. Sadly, it's a little too late for this move on the part of the workers. They've 'mumuishly' kept quiet for too long.

That is the problem with you people. Everything is all about Aregbe. Mind you, before Aregbe started owing, Kogi and Benue states under PDP administrations in the last dispensation were owing up to 11 months. Nobody made a noise about that because they are PDP and Christians. So when Aregbe cried out that he was systemically being denied allocation from the FG, shebi all of you were mocking him instead of addressing the issue.

Long story short, Aregbe and Osun people have moved on. Osun state is back on track as construction works have since started in the state again. Continue to make jest of Aregbe when your own governor is there making life miserable for you. SMH

Mimiko is a medical doctor,I believe bad politics has casted a shroud of darkness over his true reason.
This is the same man who info has that while he practised at the govt hospital as a medical officer,he refused to see patients cos the AC in the consulting room got bad!
This same man can afford to see his health workers, suffer for the basic necessities!
The state hospital in ondo has had no power supply for whoknowswhen, yet we expect life to go on as usual?

The Mother and child hospital, arguably his major achievement in his last 7+ years as the gov of ondo state, is in dire straits, unbelievably short-staffed, the available workforce continue to crumble under the pressure of unbearable workload(cases of pregnant workers having miscarriages, etc etc). The man has a knife to the neck of the goose that lays his golden eggs, yet some so called 'elders' want health workers to keep it cool, saying the man is trying his best?
