It's often called a miracle when something something which would be supposedly called impossible is achieved.

Through nerve-bypass technology, a paralysed man has been able to regain some use of his arms.

Ian Burkhart broke his neck five years ago after diving into the sea and getting pushed into a sandbar by the waves, This lead to him been paralysed from his chest down, having movement in his neck and head but he could not control his legs and arms.

Scientists in the US first connected his brain to the technology in 2014, and after two years of practice and fine-tuning, they are seeing remarkable results.

A microchip was inserted into his brain
