ASUU Threatens To Release Names Of Govt Officials' Schooling Abroad. by Nobody: 9:33pm On Aug 13, 2009
Striking ASUU has threatened to release the names of nigerian govt officials whose children are schooling abroad. The lecturers who accused the FG of insensitivity to their plights said the policy makers in govt had nothing to lose because their do not school in Nigeria which has then necessitated the release of the names of such children.ASUU president professor ukachukwu awuzie made this known while reacting to the fG decision to pull out of the re-negotiation on the salaries at a press conference in abuja recently;that ASUU is compiling the list of such govt official's name & will be made public very soon,

Is this a threat? Is it a secret that almost every well to do Nigerian has their kid schooling abroad?

ASUU should first release a list of those of them who schooled abroad when the Nigerian education system was supposedly in good shape.

You people should tell ASUU to also attach a list of the names of those of them that went to school abroad too. Let's see which list will be longer.

This is not how to blackmail. Is there no Philosophy or Psychology lectures amongst them that can proffer better ideas than this cheap and meaningless trick?

Depends on the lecturer in question. Some lecturers have other things by the side that yield money for them.

Chei, and someone was telling me to go teach for Naija university.

Make I dream small: grin

If I have the money, I will issue scholarships to 10,000 Nigerian high school students every year to go study in the U.S., UK, Canada, India, Ghana, Australia, mainland Europe, New Zealand, etc., for 10 years. That will result in 100,000 well train Nigerian youths who will in turn help their families.

The scholarships will be given to smart students who are from humble backgrounds. To reduce cost, I will work with select universities willing to give them financial assistance. Since they're smart, many of them will get studentships, grants and financial aid.

A budget of $100 million per annum will do. This is the amount of money some government official in Abuja or any of our corrupt state capitals will just steal for weekend entertainment. No be so?
