Guys please I ve problem when my system starts up and I press F2,it asks me 2 enter password,pls hw can I recover d password back.

Oh my

I think you set or someone set a bios password and you have forgotten it.

I believe you can remove the cmos battery wait a couple of minutes and replace it.
search on google for that. I am not sure so dont follow this instruction.

Different manufacturers have different setup

So what is the brand of this computer
Is this laptop or desktop
Which year was it bought

@topic
if your system is desktop computer, remove the cemos battry jumper and set it to the wrong position, power on the system " it will not on" now install the jumber in the correct postion and power the sytem it will now boot, note it may show you an error message like, "Bad Cemos Battry or Cemos battry incorrect.

press f2 or f1 to continue i hope it will work.

Removing nd putin d cemos batery works 4 desktop hw about 4 laptops toshiba precisely is dere any software 1 can use?

@sescop That the best advice you could possibly get if no joy then am afraid your mobotherboard need replacing.I"ll take is pc yeah ?

to all tecs in the house can the poster recover the machine back to default using a vista recovery disk, would that solve it
Like he said is a laptop if no joy then need going for repair otherwise the notebook is useless

i will like you to answer me those question.

do you normaly press f2 before your system will boot?
when prompt to press f2, is to boot or to enter setup?
which key do you use to enter your Bios enviroment?

please reply me so that i can tell what next.

Have you ever set a windows password ? because this could well be bios or windows password. who knows ?

that is why i was asking him the keys he use to enter bios, because it may be password on boot or password on Bios as u said before.

You guys are trying to get people out Computer wahala i appricate you guys so much.

i am always suspicious of these 'lost password' threads .

how do you forget or accidentally setup a password

i just think its either a stolen pc

or the op is trying to break into someone's pc

Password are case sensitive try turning off your kb (caps lock)
