Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been named the Barclays Premier League Player of the season. This comes days after he picked up the Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year award. The Barclays Premier League winner beats teammates N’Golo Kante, Kasper Schmeichel, Wes Morgan and PFA player of the year winner Riyad Mahrez, to the award. Leicester’s five players were joined on the shortlist for the award with West Ham’s Dimitri Payet, Mesut Ozil of Arsenal and Tottenham trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and defender Toby Alderweireld.
