The Indian Diaspora in Lagos, in partnership with ISKCON
West Africa, are organizing the first ever Festival of India
event in Nigeria on the 13th of August 2016, with the goal of
"Celebrating Cultural Unity & Diversity for national and global
peace - vasudhaive kutumbakam (world is one family.)"
It's an international Annual Toursim Extravaganza for Africa's
Model Mega City.
This statement was made known at a press conference
organized by the International society for Krishna
consciousness (ISKCON) in partnership with the Indian
Diaspora in Lagos.
According to the Chairman, Bolaji Rosiji who was a former
president of PMAN, "we intend to create an event of global
proportions that, in addition to the efforts of the State
Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will help catapult Lagos
State to a notable tourist destination".
Rosiji said, this Festival of India -Lagos with the Ratha Yatra
(Chariot) Festival as its central spectacle, which in major
cities all over the world attracts millions of tourists annually
to have an inestimable impact on the minds and hearts of the
up to 50,000 visitors and local participants that are expected
at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos-the venue of the event.
He said, "The procession will display an unprecedented,
colorful and very rich cross-cultural into Nigerian mix of
ethnic troupes which will promote bilateral synergy and
collaboration in various sectors-economic, cultural,
entertainment and diplomatic".
Co-Chairman of the Festival, Diwesh Mishra said, the festival
of India's stage will host the cream de la cream of Bollywood,
Nigerian superstars, internationally renowned traditional and
contemporary stars from India, Indian cuisine, fashion and
cultural as a whole.
Mishra said,the event will also witness dignitaries in the fields
of scholarship, the diplomatic corps and top government
functionaries from India and NIGERIA.

spectacle, including: the best of Indian fashion; Cuisine;
