Esseite: I think its time we empower and license illegal refineries while being checkmated by the NNPC on its quality and distribution, that is the only way to get the price of pms/diesel and all others to its lowest in the shortest period of time.
Reasons:
These refineries which we have always heard have been in business without importing refined crude and all its shipping protocols. These refineries account for thousands of litres which we consume on daily basis. The refinery proceeds circulates within the country These refineries would create jobs, New business opportunity on all aspects These refineries can buy Nigerian Crude oil with our Naira The Exchange rate of dollar does not impact on these refineries (heavily) These refineries would pull down the price of pms in a matter of weeks The price of pms would even go lower when the big guns eventually notice no one is interested in imported pms at 145 These refineries have very low cost of logistics These refineries would assist the NNPC refineries that have refused to work optimally These refineries would spring up in thousand in their small scale production These refineries have been working with our current state of infrastructure and light issues but have survived This area can be harnessed to reduce the impact on the already ailing masses These refineries can sell its fuel to the Tank farms or even directly to gas stations
The country can determine the price to sell to Citizens and foreigners in other to alleviate suffering
we have always heard of illegal refineries, it is a ready market waiting to be harnessed..
eg... Oil firms would be forced to setup refineries locally when demand for imported pms is lowest, thereby bringing in competition as well and lowest prices, it is not like the telecom that requires billions of Naira for small production, if not how come we have them in the creeks of major region breaking pipelines and refining.
I concur. This is the best action to take now and we can get fuel at #45. I just hope the dummy zombie president see sense in this wen his attention is drawn to it |

The reason the refineries are illegal is because they steal crude. How do you licence a thief? What you and the OP are saying is the fastest way to create jobs is to licence thieves. |

If you have read properly, you would have seen where it stated - empower, license, checkmated Empower means to assist in developing License means to approve Checkmated means to supervise You would have also noted the part where it said we can buy our crude with our Naira refine and sell.. If we can have thousands of small scale refinaries (meeting Nnpc standards and safety), why cant we empower them.. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.. Moreover stating an opinion with an insult clearly shows complex and anger |

There's already a process to acquire a refining license. This guys don't want it because it means they have to pay for crude, pay tax et al. As for the bold, you should direct that to the person I quoted. |
