JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The cashier position is responsible for maintaining guest service, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Hospital policy/store standards.



FUNCTIONS


Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.

Adhere to all the hospital policies, procedures and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.

Accurately and efficiently complete all transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.

Communicate guest requests to management.

Maintain control of all cash and check receipts.

Receives payments at the cashier’s office and responds to patient concerns relating to balances and billing questions for the Accounts Receivable.

Ensure personal development (presentations career advancement programmes etc.).

RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities



WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.



DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.



EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Mondays – Fridays 08:00am – 05:00pm Weekends 09:00am – 03:00pm



TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

At least two years in similar role



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent customer service and a positive attitude

Must be able to work in a team environment

Must have the ability to multitask and solve problems

Experience running a cash register, knowledge of processing a credit card reader and performing credit card transactions.
