Strutting about in vain glory
On well paved corridors
Of power chambers,
Paved with sweats
Of citizens,
Birds of Abuja in harlotry
Descend and rummage
For filthy lucre
In the bowel
Of the giant,
Fallen elephant,
Devouring its putrifying guts
With voracious beaks.
With exposed rumps
Inviting the depraved,
Shrinking consciences,
Seasons of harlotry endure,
Whores rule the land,
Whoredom is enthroned.
We are captives now,
Prisoners of war,
Disconnected from power chambers.
We search now in waste dumps
To calm our complaining stomachs.
