ATTENTION ALL DOCTORS

There was a meeting between NUC and National postgraduate medical college yesterday where was concluded that Postgraduate fellowships will no longer qualify doctors to lecture in universities except they get masters and PhDs. The decision is that ALL doctors who are currently readers will be exempted while those below will be given until 2020 to regularise or leave the system.
This is an important issue that ALL doctors, NMA and MDCN should be concerned about.
Question is how did we get here?

Nurses need better trainers too. Our Mostly demonic nurses need Angels to fall from heaven and train them though. They should include Mercy training and love coaching and Religious studies to the training they give Nigerian Nurses.

Ideally that's the norm for lecturing in a university (a prerequisite masters degree not fellowship). Fellowship is a professional diploma and not necessarily an academic degree (MSc and PhD alike). It took so long for NUC to get it right and besides there are many medical masters degree dat qualifies one for a lecturing job.
If you ask me it's not a cause for concern but only a step in the right direction. U know why they are trying to correct this now cos later in the future other professionals will start issuing fellowship diplomas and dey will want to follow this step.
