In the attached pics, you will notice that we are casting the reinforced blinding and foundation footing which is directly tied to the ground beam and the reason is not far fetched; the composition / texture of the soil being swampy, we had to introduce a reinforce foundation footing which we tied to the ground beam.
Note that we first had to excavate deep enough to lay the foundation on relatively solid ground; all of this was done to prevent settlement which sometimes can lead to bldg collapse...
