have we forgotten that there was a time when Nigerian Music was a "sorry-story". Nothing Musical was Good. from Commercial Adverts to Live band or recorded music, everything was a shame to hear.

Now we have some good music coming out of Nigeria, and in the midst of this like any other place there will be a lot of crap.
I think Music alone has helped develope a lot of talents,
backup singers, dancers, Camera crew, Video producers, stage engineers etc etc and there are a lot of talents in these set only to name a few.

The notable thing is that, like Nigeria, there is no control for the crap that is about to overshadow the good.

In spite of millions of man and youth power in Nigeria, we are disappointingly myopic in our dealings. Everyone tends to head in the same direction. At one time everyone was a Doctor, then Lawyer, then 419er, then IT Professional, then Oil worker, then Model and Fashion expert, then Nollywood star, now we all want to be Musicians. A nation that has no direction will always wander about like the children of Israel did for 40 years.

Rather than express our individuality so our nation can be balanced, we all jump into the same frying pan with no one to help us out.

[b]There's always a venture. The major needs are there. Education. Health. Shelter. Food. Agriculture. Transportation. Communication. Manufacturing. Power. Finance. Even Spirituality is a great need. And also there's "Inspiration" or counseling. There are several undeveloped sectors within this country that needs intense development. I found my niche which is Engineering & Architecture, and also there's a hobby, and that's writing and music, and I believe I can do better than a great pile of your Nija-super-garbage stars out there. Singing should just be a past-time. Not a national/mass-career like it is now.

I mean, today in Nigeria, nearly every youth wants to get into music. Even my girlfriend and some of her friends who are fresh graduates are constantly in the studio wasting their time because its not gonna work, not when you spend more than half a decade studying medicine and putting all your hope into some crappy studio mix, hoping it would flush.

That is a very good point. I think that's what we need to focus and develop on.
Let's think of this.

Japan is known to be very good in technology, most of the electronics we use in nigeria (I would have said in the world but i've not been to other countries) were developed in japan. Japanese in their research, develop mobile phones, which are very useful to human life. But China, in their their restless effort, went ahead and developed what i can say is better than that of japan (China phone). Though there are lots of discrimination about china phones, but to me, it's better. At least it solves the problem of carrying two  different phones for two network.

In a nut shell, my next question for nigerian is "What are we doing in technology market?"

People who are musically oriented have gone ahead to expose and improve their industry to Nigerians. I would say kudos to them and not spite them. It is left for other sectors of the economy to expose theirs and make something out of nothing the way Nigerian musicians have done!!!

i can never agree with some one that d'banj is a singer, he is just a time waster who does not have anywhere to go and anything to think with his head, am not sure if that guy is sensible. please, you want to call singers then call reasonable people.
