The npfl is receiving a widespread attention from nigerian football fans, attendance is getting quite higher but still far from that of the 80s, tv audience are increasing in number and the glamour of the league is glooming but the real deal is still missing, the money.

Football is today a multi billion sport venture around the world gaining huge money from commercials and broadcast right. It is today a sport of glamour because of the huge fund that has been invested in it. From England to Spain, Germany to Italy, France to Portugal, USA to China, Russia to Mexico, etc, football has become a money league. But why is Nigeria left out?

Bad administration will be what everybody will say but isn't is time we start doing things the right way? Is it not time we start to reap the gains of our passion for the game of soccer? Do we even know what are the gains it can bring? What has it done to the european economy and what will it do here?

Just to mention little, do you know the bundesliga account for 110 thousand direct jobs in Germany? Do you know the EPL account for over 103 thousand direct jobs in England. Do you know the British government generate over £3.4 billion annually from the EPL through tax only? Do you know the european top league contribute reasoable percentage to theie countries GDP and Do you know we can make this and more happen in Nigeria?

The Nigerian fans I must confess are more sophisticated than the current Nigerian league and that's why we have to take it to the premium level. If thing were right, the Nigerian league should be recording the highest attendance rate among soccer league across the world and should be number 2 in any sport league all over the world behind only the American NFL.

It is time we create an enviable world class league in Nigeria, we need it most at this time of economic recession, a time we need to diversify our economy. We need the support of the Government and private sector to build a world class league in little possible time. We need a money league.

Yeah you are right but going by the performance of the LMC in the couple of seasons and now i believe that in no distant time the Nigerian entertainment industry won't be able to match the followership, sponsorship and all the matmattaz. Just relax

with the way lmc is going npfl will go places all we need is to reduce govt involvement in clubs

just imagine if

kano pillars is owned by dangote
enyimba -orji uzor kalu
3sc- mike adenuga
rangers - innoson chukwuma
etc

the competirion will be profit driven and if club suffers financial setback it can be easily bought over just as we saw gabros fc acquired by ifeanyi uiba

The various clubs should start aggressive mass campaign not to only draw fans to stadiums, but also sponsors.....big big multinationals and indigenous companies in each states should be approached for sponsorship.... and also they should be free from government interference! Imaging 3SC players being owned 5 months salaries! you begin to wonder what kind of management is in place Happenings like this drives sponsors away. This cannot happen to brands like Kano Pillars and Enyimba FC

Dia are many way to draw sponsors to d league.let take enyimba 4 example. Let say they want to draw coca cola bottling company all the have to do go dm and ask for sponsorship in return only coca cola products would be allowed to be sold inside the stadium.and checking the amount people dat come to enyimba stadium.the would make a veri huge amount of money if manage properly.both of dm always gain if the contractual dm are managed properly both would gain immersely

An anoda tin d club football cannot grow if d government does nt get its hands off dis clubs.bt most are unwilling to sell because its an avenue they use to siphon money from the federal government by the state

Bro.... Let not deceive ourselves, we wont have a world class league in the country in a decade if we are developing at this pace. Though I must confess LMC has done well considering the rot left by the predecessors but this is the fourth season of LMC in administration, the pace of development should be much faster than this.

Nothing much has improved this season when compared to the last. Facilities remain the same or even worse than before. Attendance hasn't really grown, Rangers has seen massive increase in attendance when playing at night while Shooting Stars attendance has dropped drastically. About 15 teams cant still generate 1000 fans on matchdays.

Bro, the world isn't stagnant, we need to keep moving as fast as we can. We can change the tide of the NPFL in just 6 months. Our economy is shrinking, we need to revive it.

for more than decade, we have been calling on state government to hands off football but they haven't and might never, we have to take their hands off it.

The LMC is in best position to do this but it seems they have no idea of how to. One way is by cancelling the league after this season and move to begin a new league with new statutes stating non profit institution should oy own clubs.

Adenuga has been spending more than £5 million through Glo to sponsor Man-United since 2009. He could have spend that on 3sc if the chance was there. We need to rebuild our league to a great height. I believe the people in LMC can do it but not the way they are doing things currently.

yeah, you are very right........ We need that kind of campaign but can a company of yours spend billions on the current league in nigeria. It obviously No, sponsoring a government owned team is more like paying an unwarranted tax.

Government cant pay players, yet, LMC cant order them to hands off administration of clubs. Sometimes I feel LMC is not really in power in league system.

Commercially we are zero, we cant even get league title sponsor. The enyimba and Kano pillars you mention cant even get a single sponsor, at least we have Nairabet at 3sc.

Closing my eyes, I can mention 50 company that will surely invest in our football only if thing were right.

yeah u are right but not in a decade's time. The league improve this season in the area of sponsorship cos LMC has made it know that 6 new sponsors will be named during the season.
Shooting stars attendance reduced this season because of sentiments on the part of the club management. Other venues has improved attendance compare to last season.
To believe that there is improvement in naija plz like this page on facebook. League management company.

lol..... I follow lmc on every social media platform they operate. I 'm not saying their is no progress but the development is too slow for a country of 180 million people and africas largest economy.

6 new sponsors?....... LMC said this since the beggining of new season, the season is already half way. When exactly will the deal kick off. To be candid, it will take more than a decade to reach the level of South African PSL not to talk of bigger leagues unless LMC works harder. We should be in the level of the EPL, La liga, etc considering our population and the fact that our league was better than the englisg league in the 80s.
