The Senate, Tuesday , declared that a whooping N447.42 billion fraud was perpetuated in the administration of import duty waivers, concessions and grants on rice and other imported foods by different Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs of the federal government and companies from 2011 to 2015.

The fraud as contained in a report approved by the Senate from its Ad-hoc Committee on Import Duty Waivers, Concessions and Grants, include N78billion in 2011, N128billion in 2012, N46billion in 2013, N87billion in 2014 and N106billion in 2r015 respectively.

The greatest foolishness ever done by the 8th Senate is declaring an economic policy of Federal Government a Fraud.

Is CBN rationing of dollar to Buharians not the greatest fraud ever in 21st century? Who is probing the recipients? This is a government policy and there is nothing fraudulent about the policy unless something runs against ethics.

If import duty waivers, concessions and grants on rice and other imported foods is a fraud what then is N940 million for grazing reserve/ranch and importion of grass from Brazil for herdsmen? Abi a compensation?
