So that is the new line eh?

I thought they were bombing our pipelines to stop the evil Hausas from getting our oil.....now it is to help the Hausas' friends in Saudi to get more cash for global jihad?.

I don't think I understand the way some people think on Nairaland.
no take am personal. am a wailer. I must fulfil my obligation of criticising opposition at any or no chance. grin

Good! They should bomb more to further raise the oil price.

For those who insist it's because of the wild fire at Canada, then the NDA should then bomb much more till their actions make significant impact to raise the oil price.

Not wholly true. Its more of an effect from the fires that disrupted oil production in Alberta, Canada. Remember that canada produces more oil than Nigeria.

Oil breaks $50 a barrel for first time this year as Canadian wildfires sap US stockpiles

Oil prices have risen above $50 a barrel for the first time this year after data showed a fall in US crude inventories, adding to expectations of a tightening global market.

Brent North Sea crude for July delivery was up 33 cents at $50.07 a barrel while US benchmark West Texas Intermediate was trading 29 cents higher at $49.85.

...Prices have since rebounded, aided by the weeks of wildfires in Canada as well as unrest affecting energy infrastructure in Nigeria, Africa's biggest oil exporter.

angry By now the Niger delta skies ought to be filled with helicopters and bomber Jets from the Nigerian airforce so they can do reconnaissance and possibly eves drop on the militants by monitoring their communications. These ragtag militants from the 5% region should not be allowed to hold the country to ransom. Buhari should give a shoot at sight order to the military so the avengers can pee in their pants. if not for the innocent people living in the Niger delta, I would have recommended a total leveling of the region if necessary. We the SW and core North are the only region not disturbing the peace of Nigeria. The 5% people are just a pain in our asses. angry

many a people seem happy about the global surge in oil prices and are forgetting that subsidy has been removed in Nigeria. Let us remember that "the higher the price of oil at the international market, the higher the price Nigerians will have to pay for oil OR ELSE, subsidy will have to return so as to provide a STABLE PRICE for the commodity in Nigeria."
I stand to be corrected if you have a different opinion.

Bad news for fuel consumers. Fuel price will definitely rise because importers have to make profits. The N145 ceiling can not stand under the condition of rising oil prices and forex rate of N340 well above N285 govt projection.

We the SW and core North are the only region not disturbing the peace of Nigeria. The 5% people are just a pain in our asses. angry

I don't insult people but in my candid opinion, you deserve to be insulted...
You want to level the people you suck?
You get all the oil from their place and leave them with nothing to show.
You can see the effect of dollar scarcity on the nation's economy just because of oil price. Now imagine there was no oil at all?
The 5% you call provides 95% of nation's Income.

I'm from an oil producing area. Oil is sapped from my place daily, companies(both local n international) have their base there, yet I graduated among the top 4 in my class from one of the most reputable Federal Institutions in Nigeria and couldn't secure a place with any of these coys. I've never Failed an Aptitude test but the not so bright Children of the powerful ones whose soil is not tapped nor water bodies tempered, sit daily in these offices and get a Safe breaking monthly alert...

Of what relevance is oil to us?
The only option is dialogue. If the Govt. refuses dialogue, let it expect much more.

Growing up as a Child they send us a full rice bag of Fish and crayfish constantly from home but on my Traditional wedding day, not a sizeable fish was available for my in-laws from my place.
I no longer have Fish due to Oil spillage, I can't get jobs from same Companies, My People live in abject poverty cos their source of livelihood is gone.
Of what relevance is the oil to Us?...We've had the worst and have nothing more to lose.

If the Govt. cant dialogUe, let everyone suffer the itch.

Let it be blown up since President Buhari is too big for dialogue.

If you feel we are mere 5%, Leave the 5% alone and watch what awaits your future.

from my point of view, Buhari seems to have more problem than his predecessor. i urge his advisers to shun politics and embrace dialogue with all affected parties and also implement federal character on issues of appointment. as long as he's fighting corruption, let him shun the idea of paying 1 million youths 5k and encourage skill acquisition and award credit loan to credible and prospective students..this is my opinion

But not high enough for

1.Russia who need it at 99USD.

2.Saudi who need it at 77USD.

3.Nigeria who needs it at 123 USD.

Let's face it....even without bombs galore.....Nigeria is being failed by oil.

Time we spent what little money we have on power and transport so that we can become Africa and the world's workshop...and later its industrial power.

Oil...and other forms of resource dependency ......only cause more burdens than blessings. See....everyone is fighting over the money from oil. When oil prices crash again tomorrow thanks to the development of new oil fields.....where would we be?

You are the only one who always talk in this line and i wish others are seeing it that way. But the truth is that we can't really diversify in this present state except we go regionalism and resource control. This will enable enable everybody to think and work hard to earn money. What we should be championing is structural change of this country and other things will fall in line.

I guess this loads of problems u stated above started on may 29 2015 after swearing Buhari in bah?? When GEJ your fellow Niger deltan ruled for 6 years what efforts did he make to better the lives of the average Niger deltan? Instead he made tompolo and the likes of asari billionaires at the detriment of your people who have no drinking water. Buhari's first action was to order a $1bn clean up of the Niger delta starting from ogoni land. U people remained quiet for 6yrs since GEJ na your son and hero of corruption. Now you are ranting like a baby as if other regions in nigeria live better than you people. The government failed us all as Nigerians. We all don't have constant electricity, no good roads, graduate without jobs, no potable water, no welfare package and other problems scattered in every region due to failed leadership. We are not better than the average Niger deltan. Over 95% of Nigerians live in abject poverty while the elites from every region sit on national wealth. How are we better off? The avengers are another group out to get its share. Once the government calls them to the table and settle them with amnesty and they become billionaires like the tompolo's, they cease fire and the problems u lament about remains. You think those thugs care about you or your environment? All they want is money. If they love the Niger delta so much they won't degrade it further by bursting pipes. Their actions makes your land poisonous for farming, your fishes and crabs will not survive. The problem of the Niger delta is the man standing in front of the mirror. Every one of u shares the blame because of the our OYEL mentality wink

angry By now the Niger delta skies ought to be filled with helicopters and bomber Jets from the Nigerian airforce so they can do reconnaissance and possibly eves drop on the militants by monitoring their communications. The 5% people are just a pain in our asses. angry

You be F...oool oo.
Do you know that you just killed your self?
Have you seen any oil spillage and then add fire on it?
