The death of patriotism is core in our national life. We are quick to ascribe tribe and religion to issues in our milleu. Who are these Niger Delta militants/avengers fighting for? Their people or their belly? What are they avenging now that they couldn't for avenge before now? On what new information or issues are they contending for that have not always being there? Just because they need more money and that their brother should not be probed for corruption.

Asari Dokubo to whom this letter is credited is broke since his brother lost the last general election. No more free money as usual to wastefully expend like before. He is one of the major beneficiaries of the amnesty fund. He currently owes his staffs 10months salary arrears in Benin Rep and has always use the money he is getting to fund his business empire in Benin Rep. If he loves his people so much by fight for them, why don't he invest in the Niger Delta instead of a foreign country. The university, secondary school, sport academy, acquired assets in the small francophone country will have benefited the Niger Deltans as the region is one of the most educationally backward areas in Nigeria.

I have no problem with those fighting for their people or being on the part of the masses, but many are greedy and self-centred. An average Nigerian love his belly, not his nation and has a way of hiding his greed to deceive us in seeing him as a leader. Frankly speaking, there no true leaders in the Niger Delta at the moment. hmmn, the region needs leaders with the Ken Sarowiwa's spirit and passion. The region parades greedy and inept leaders who steal from the system, cheat their people and threaten the centre when their allowances are delayed. Only few could be given a pass mark.

The man lacks the very basics. Most Nigerians, whenever oil discovery is mentioned, jump in hurah. None stop to ask what quantity.
It is pitiable that this man doesn't know that his salary WILL soon stop if these attacks continue....
It's pathetic we go to school but know nothing - even the very basic economics.

I watch some guys engaged on this issue on TVC and they seem to be in agreement that an attempt to use force is likely to backfire. They warned. In any case a use of force can't work cos there's no one standing in front of you. So if you say use of force it's a way of declaring war on innocents. One can always imagine the aftermath considering where we are right now.
