Buhari As President: What Do You Think About This Prediction? by SenIhenyen(m): 10:02am On May 30, 2016
On 11 January 2015, a group called The Platform Nigeria published a post titled 'GEJ vs GMB: SWOT analysis for 2015 presidential elections'. Many persons who have read this interesting post think it is a fairly accurate prophecy of what we are passing through in Nigeria today.

Here is an excerpt from the post:

Should GMB become President in 2015, these are the threats

1. The fight against corruption will divide many and cause political tension. More enemies will be made. Corrupt politicians will fight back. There will be propaganda and blackmail. News headlines will go crazy with scandals. The rot of a nation would be exposed. The first 2 years will be ugly. Very ugly. Many will look back at Jonathan’s time and wish we could return to that state of relative “calmness”.

2. Some opportunist northern legislators in the State Houses of Assembly will become daring, pushing for the enforcement of Sharia in their states. And then the National Assembly will catch the bug. Sharia or no sharia will return to the headlines. It will take a shrewd and decisive Buhari to deal with this in a democratic government.

3. The Nigerian Army will fight Boko Haram more strongly. The fight will be total. Boko Haram will fight back. This will bring up a lot of tension. The international community will cry foul, accusing Buhari of violating human rights. If Nigeria survives the initial threats under a courageous and decisive leader, the nation will win, together.

4. It is most likely there will be reforms in the oil sector. The oil marketers will not give in easily. There will be warning strikes; there will be indefinite strikes. Oil scarcity will rear its head for a while. Queues will return to our filling stations. In the long run, things will return to normal, but like never before- no more business as usual.

5. Nigeria’s international relations will improve. We’ll play a more leading role. On the positive side, Nigeria’s image will improve internationally. But side effects of some of our positions on burning international issues will have negative consequences on us locally. Terrorists will not like our growing courage. There will be diplomatic tension. From a foreign affairs perspective, Nigeria will be “giant of Africa” again, but will hardly sleep- the price for leadership.
