i have always wondered how there are no better effective ways of controlin the minds of people except thru religion.

you are told to create blood baths all in the name of allah.

dont mind if your fellow human being is starvin to death but quite appropriate to give that money to God you dont see ooooo.

make lotta noise enuf to deafen a baby but not questionable as it is servin God in the wee hours of the morning and a whole lot more!

no disrespect to fanatics in the house

First of all,why do you think that the minds of people need to be controlled to begin with?
Now to your question on whether religion is a mind control tool,"Is the sun hotter than the moon?"Ofcourse it is a mindcontrol tool!What other purpose does it have?Maybe a tool of the notorious but highly effective "divide and conquer" tactics employed by imperialists and colonialists to weaken the folks they wish to dominate.

Yes religion is a mind control tool. There is a great power that we Africans have and can utilize only if we are all of the same accord. We must let go of the ways of cultures and religions that are not our own. Societies, cultures and ideologies that are not of our own are designed by nature to be contrary to what is most beneficial to us as a whole.

The most effective to date, can change people to perfect living zombies without constantly checking on them, just call em up and they will bomb the world trade center for you.

Maybe its because the brain/mind is such a complex organ with so many neuron connections that it fills in the gaps in its understanding and perception of the world around it. Hence the phenomenom of optical, and Audible illusions where people see and hear things that are not there. Or modify a sensation experience to something that fits a certain model that it can understand and categorise. Hence the 'existence' of Ghosts and people hearing voices in their heads. When these experiences are then attributed to an all powerful supernatural 'god' who controls the forces of nature and your eternal destiny, religions are created to try to appease and worship him and beg for his mercy.

As we understand more and more about how the brain works and how it can be deceived, i wonder how much longer religions can last before everyone starts to question their supernatural beliefs and realise whats been going on.

religion has also being able to make people more insensitive,and now we have more lunatics by the day. im not an atheist, i believe their is God, which is the you in you.
God is how you treat your fellow human, how sensitive you are to happenings around you, how you love, you feel what people feel, u know

religion has also been able to brainwash people who can think, thinkin for you.
isla and christianity(which are nothin but recycled paganism )has been the two major religion that has successfully peddled insanity like no other
