Reminder that the current Amir of Kano was found guilty by a panel setup during the Abacha era to investigate perpetrators and instigators of a religious riot in Kano which was sparked off by the false allegation that an Igbo preacher's wife used the pages of the Koran as toilet paper.

The MSS staged series of violent riots both on campus and outside demanding that sharia law among others must be included in the 1979 constitutional draft.
