OBIANO SLASHES Certificate Of Occupancy FEES

Governor Willie Obiano has approved reduction of all fees payable for issuance of Certificates of Occupancy in non-State Lands in Anambra State.

The new regime of payment is as follows:
1-1000square meters #600,000.00 in Awka/Nnewi and
#675,000.00 for Onitsha while
1000-2500 square meters attracts payment of #900,000.00 for Awka and Nnewi while applicants in Onitsha will pay #675,000.00 and applicants for 2500 square meters-5000 square meters will pay #1,500,000.00 in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi.
In the same vein those who apply for residential purposes will pay as follows:
1-1000 square meters in Awka and Nnewi attracts payment of #400,000.00, 1000-2500 square meters in Awka/Nnewi will attracts payment of #600,000.00 while those in Onitsha will pay #650,000.00.
Applicants whose plot size is under residential purpose and falls between 2500-5000 square meters will pay one million naira in Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha.
Also payment for Certificates of Occupancy in rural areas have been drastically reduced as follows: 1-1000 square meters- #200,000.00, 1000-2500 square meters- #300,000.00, 2500-5000 square meters- #400,000.00.
Application for commercial purposes now attracts an increment of only 1.5% (one point five percent) in whatever area the land is situated while payment for sublease have been reduced to only #70,000.00 (seventy thousand naira).

The special reduction of fees has only a grace period on ninety days after which it will end.

In a statement shortly after a meeting with various stake holders, the Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Rural Development Sir Okey Moka said that the measure is aimed at ensuring effective service delivery.
Sir Okey said that the new measure will ensure quicker delivery of Certificates of Occupancy and other land title documents on private lands within seven days from the date of application, adding that Governor Willie Obiano is poised to assist businessmen in the state to procure their title documents to enhance their transaction.

He said that the state Government is fully aware that businessmen and women as well as corporate organizations in the state needed these title documents to access funds from banks and other financial institutions, stressing that the new measures will increase the volume of business in the state.
The Honourable Commissioner warned that government will not tolerate unnecessary delays in the process of issuance of Certificates of Occupancy and other land title documents adding that the ministry is adopting private sector approach to business in all its transactions.

Under the new guidelines various fees payable for Certificates of Occupancy have been streamlined while payment for APLUC becomes a prerequisite for such transaction.

The Ministry directs that all payments must be under pay direct system in various banks and advised applicant against offering money to the staff under any guise.

I hope they extend it for 1 or 2 years because it will increase the Igr of state tremendously!.

minimum wage for a level 8 officer is not same with a level 12.

Anyway: first you should have asked how is land being sold around these areas.
