The Nigerian Pound (1957). by Thirdborn: 10:16pm On Aug 25, 2009
I have had a Nigerian pound note for ages and i always wondered if it was valuable. Anybody have an idea how much someone would pay for a 1957 Nigerian pound?

I don't think anyone would like to buy it, it's useless and worthless.
Re: The Nigerian Pound (1957). by KunleA2(m): 12:56am On Aug 26, 2009
Nigerian are not huge on Note collections or collections in general. if its not new and shiny, we dont want it! I wish i were in naija i would have bought it tho.

But one pound used to be equivalent of N2 naira after 1960 independence. Even with inflation lets assume its N200. And what are u gonna do with that?

Just frame it and put on your wall, if nothing it will remind you of the Queen of England and the colonization years.

Re: The Nigerian Pound (1957). by kokoye(m): 1:44pm On Sep 09, 2009
I know a couple of guys (Nigerians and others) who actually collect and sell these things. So yea, the old naija / biafra notes are valuable. I think the guys I know already have the note ur referring to though.

Try online searches . . . . you never know.
