The university of Nigeria Enugu Campus today 5th of June 2016 embark on one week strike after its stakeholders meeting which include the The SUG president, vice president, Speaker of the house, hostel governors and their deputies, house of representative members, senators, faculty and departmental presidents,state of origin presidents,the SUG chief judge and other judges, Class representatives and other student stakeholders this is due to the epileptic power supply and the breakdown of the school generator which brought about blackout in the school to this effect the SUG has locked all the class rooms in the school with a write up NO LIGHT NO LECTURE KEEP OFF this is the full text of the STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT UNEC GREAT LIONS AND LIONESS The outcome of the meeting between the the executive council, speaker and principal officers of the house of reps, the principal officers of the senate, the DSP, the chief judge and all the judges, all faculty and departmental presidents, fellowship presidents, hall governors, class representative and indeed all the student stakeholders has led us to arrive at the conclusion that it is time to revive the aluta spirit. We have dialogue with the school, we have listened, we have been patient. We. Are. Tired. With exams drawing closer and the seeming continuing non-chalance of the university management the SUG in collaboration with university stakeholders is declaring a one week Strike. We have been quiet for far too long. It is time we take our fate into our hands. There would be no lectures, no exams, no posting, NOTHING until we get power. This movement cannot succeed without your help. United we stand, divided we fall. From today onwards our motto is 'LET THERE BE LIGHT!'. #bringbackourlight YOUR WELFARE IS OUR CONCERN!!!
