An assistant inspector general of police,mr sulaimon fakai has been accussed of snatching ballot boxes during the april 14 2007 governorship election in iresi community of osun state.
Fakai,who was the commissioner of police during the election was accused by a witness of the action congress,mr ibrahim adeyemi,who testified before the governorship tribunal in osun state.
Fakai,who is currently the secretary of the nigeria police force,alledgedly perpetrated the act at ward 09 of iresi community in boluwaduro local govt council.According to adeyemi who was a supervisor of Ac in the ward,fakai alledgedlo took ballot boxes by himself from the ward,adding that the police chief took the boxes to the police station in town;that fakai ordered his men to move the boxes.When will the police be free from allegation of abetting & aiding election rigging?.
