Why Are State Governors Shying Away From Fighting Corruption?

I have observed that the current crop of State Governors in this present administration are shying away from fighting corruption in the area of probing without laxity their predecessors and recovering some of the "assumed" looted state funds.

This fight against corruption in the area of recovering looted funds have been abandoned to the Federal Government alone not minding the fact that a very large chuck of the national cake was catered away by other federating units like the state and most importantly the Local Governments where looting is done with pride since there is poor public concentration on them and little or no supervision and any forms of checks and balances on them.

For over one year now, all we have been hearing from state Governments remain efforts made at discovering ghost workers and nothing more.........the few states that tried exposing their predecessors did that for envy and selfishness, yes, Rivers for example only showed the world that all their allegations against Amechi was just to disrupt his Ministerial chances at that time, if not why have they suddenly gone mute about it immediately they found out that their gimmick could not stop him?

Before this administration, many Governors probed their predecessors and many recorded success in the fight, a good example is the recovery of Billions both in cash and properties from Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu state and so many others.

I admonish these Governors to join hands in this fight against corruption and make it all encompassing so that it can easily get down to the grassroots where the impact will be felt by the common man on the street......the deeper the fight penetrates into the nooks and crannies of the country the better the impact on the quick repair and building of our moral consciousness and value system.

Or are there no corrupt people in those states including those APC controlled states where power was wrestled from the opposition PDP and vice-versa?

money laundering is part of corruption, not it's elder brother. Governors will go to abuja at the end of every month to get millions of $$$ and just go to share in salaries and any left over is simply embezzled, but if it were like the US where it is vise versa, such nonsense will not exist, the feeding bottle system we operate encourages corruption 98%

The Sullivan government was able to retrieve Chimaoroke's property that was in Enugu. His properties outside Enugu can only be retrieved by EFCC and a state government cant freeze an account either. As for why this present governors are not interested. I think its because the president wil simply shield them or make them ministers. Wike had writtento efcc and submitted the result of an investigation. As a result, Amaechi was made a minister. Ganduje had also made some certain accusations against his predecessor and the efcc simply went deaf. So, simply for most its either they are largesse of the ex governor or they simply know nothing will be done.

How can you fight curruption and accept gift like free cars with full insurance. The governor presents state legislature with gift. All using public funds to pay for it. I'm also guessing they get to keep those cars after they leave office.

Look towards Kebbi and Imo if you want to guess why.
