The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, sacked the House of Representative mem­ber representing Udi/Ezeagu federal constitu­ency in Enugu State, Hon Dennis Amadi, and declared a former member of the House, Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi as winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election con­ducted on December 6 2014.

Counsel to Dennis Amadi, Ogochukwu Onyekwuluje, however noted that his client will appeal the judgment on Monday, saying that the judgment cannot stand in the Court of Appeal.

Delivering the judg­ment which lasted for over three hours, the presiding judge, Jus­tice Okon Abang, said that from evidences tendered before him, Ozomgbachi won the PDP primary for the constituency and was supposed to be declared the candidate of the par­ty for the April 28 2015 National Assembly elec­tion for the consistency.

Abang therefore or­dered the incumbent member, Amadi, to immediately vacate the seat he is occupying at the House of Represen­tatives and asked that Ozomgbachi be sworn-in immediately.
