A new militant group known as Bakassi Strike force has urged the federal government to retake the ceded Bakassi Peninsula from the Cameron government.
Reports on Saturday indicated that the group made up of over 600 militants, claimed that the people of Bakassi have been neglected by the federal government and international bodies.
The sun reported that the group also known as Esighi, carried heavy and sophisticated weapons on boat and later marched from Bakassi to Esuk-Mba.
The group made this demand last friday in Bakassi.
A punch report stated that the group bandished machine gun, rocket launchers amidst others.
The group stated that it would accept amnesty if extended to them with its leader, General Simply also known as Humble Lion saying:
'..the federal government took our oil rich bakassi from us and handed it over to the Cameroon. We as indigenes were not consulted before this was done;neither was any constitutional provisions made for any displaced person'
'To make matter was, after taking our land from us, the cameroonian forces started harrassing and molesting our people and even levied us with heavy taxes which is certainly unbearable'.
