There is not evidence that the temptation were listed in chronological order. Much as the gift brought to Jesus by men from the east were not listed in the order which they were presented! That said, I don't see how telling you a man's 3 sons are James, John and Joseph contradicts another person telling you his 3 sons are James, Joseph and John.
