Honestly the guy mumu pass his friend. You had the intention of tracking someone down, and you track yourself down easily by revealing that you aren't real yourself. Atleast if you want to catch a monkey, you need to pretend like a monkey also. Are you supposed to blast him like that when you have not gotten any info about him.

This is a pure case of irresponsibility. Don't you know that it is your responsibility to assist the law enforcement agents when you get the opportunity. You just went and blew everything up. You had the guy going, all you needed was to sustain the conversation and try and get as much info as you can get from the guy/girl. Your friend has just been scammed and you had the chance to recover his money and help potential victims and all you did was to assist the fraudster to be more careful with his tricks.
