Is Your Governor Finding It Difficult To Pay Workers Salary? Bundle Him Before Peter Obi For Solutions!

Former Gov. of Anambra State, Peter Obi has disagreed with those that said that Nigerian States are incapable of paying salaries, insisting that with prudence and rational prioritizing, each State can comfortably pay salaries and engage in other developmental activities.

Obi said that those in government spent a lot of money on things that were not necessary, while running out of money for projects that would enrich the people.

Using himself as an example, Obi said that when he was Governor, he did not keep guest houses, charter planes, travel with more people than necessary, fly Business Class, use bullet proof vehicles, among others thereby saving billions he used to offset close to N40bn arrears of pension and gratuity he met and had extra for effective developmental projects.

Says Peter Obi:

"If any Governor finds it difficult to pay salaries, let him consult me and I will freely and willingly divulge the secrets to him."

they forgot their campaign promises...........are they to blame?.....we nigerians are mostly blind followers,,,,,due to diverse in religion,ethnicity etc .............they use that as a selling point, and we use that as a stupid point to cast vote for them

Peter Obi the prudent man. We understand where u are coming from, u are already wealthy and self made before venturing into politics and hence see no need to embezle the little that the state have. Meanwhile those other guys are nobody and paupers before becoming their states administrators and as such, see it as a means to an end, only opportunity to amass wealth which they will never acquire outside the corridors of politics.

Peter Obi is a model in Nigeria politics. He is right, its not rocket science to pay salary as state governor, what you need as a governor is a common sense.

Yea, u are right also but what some state with rich governors are passing through isn't totally as a result of over looting, rather a poor managerial ability, accountability and most of all extravagant lifestyle/governance.

peter obi has earned my respect because of his giant stride in development of Anambra state to the envy of other states. and for his quietness unlike his neighbour Rochas okorochas.
