Presidency, APC Behind PDP Crisis by Ofunaofu: 5:42pm On Jun 14, 2016
The Senator Ahmed Makarfi led Caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Tuesday alleged that the Presidency and the All Progressive Congress are behind the leadership crisis rocking the Party. Addressing a press conference, the member of the committee in charge of Publicity, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said the crisis was being for enter in order to whittle down the effect of the PDP in the forthcoming elections in Edo and Ondo state. Prince Adeyeye who was flanked by the Senator Ahmed Ningi, Senator Odion Ugbesia and Hajia Aisha Aliyu noted that the "All progressive Congress APC has contracted Sheriff and his cohorts to scuttle the chances ofthe PDP in the Edo governorship elections. We have credible intelligence that sheriff had a meeting on Sunday night with an APC governor from North West, where it was agreed that he would be given full security and financial support to exacerbate the crisis in the PDP with the objective of preventing the PDP from presenting a candidate for the Edo governorship elections, or in the very least to prevent the PDP from offering a serious challenge to APC whose electoral fortunes has continued to nose- dive". While expressing reservation of the committee on the role of the police in the whole saga leading to Senator Sheriff taking over the secretariat, Prince Adeyeye said the role of the police has indicated that there was a superior authority directing the chain of events. "Up to a point, the police discharged their responsibilities satisfactory( 1 However, later on without any justificalion whatsoever, Ali Modu Sheriff and the other renegades were allowed to gain entry into the secretariat, where they later proceeded to address a press conference. While we are still trying to understand the role of the police in the entire saga, it is curious that the police made no arrest of the thugs who openly brandished various dangerous weapons in and around the premises of the secretariat in full glare of the police. It is also curious that the police claimed to be acting on "orders from above" in allowing Sheriff and his cohorts to gain entry into the secretariat. If we may ask, who is the authority that issued the "orders from above?" He queried.

There is an iota of sense in the allegation. No better explanations to the drama that took place at wadaza plaza that what is playing out now.Ali modu Sheriff is an APC mole and should be treated as one.He should be kept at arms length to prevent a repeat of Adamu Muazu betrayal in the last election.
PDP now you have an idea of what the APCs are up to,you can up your game and match them for their antics. The brooms waving witch spirit of Apc should be weeded out from PDP.

So Fayose, Wike & Ekweremadu are now working with the presidency to destablize PDP? PDP will never ever get it right...

Were we not inundated with claims of how Shekau Sheriff was going to turn water to wine, feed 180m with 2 loaves of bread & also walk on water on their behalf in 2019..... Song don Change? (pun intended)

He who sows wind will definitely reap whirlwind.... cool

PDP wanted to eat their cake and have it... Shekau unfortunately didn't get that memo...cheesy

It is puerile to blame the ruling party for the leadership impasse that the PDP currently finds itself when members themselves made cracks in the wall for lizards to gain entry. It is time to call a truce and stop baying for more blood. The founding fathers of the party must break their silence and call these hotheads to order. The need to keep the PDP alive keeps staring at us with the passing of each day.

PDP has been cursed by the gods for bequeathing to nigeria after 16yrs of its rule:monumental corruption, election rigging, terrorism, vandalism,a comatose economy, zero infrastructure and to ice it,promotion of touts& thugs to community leaders and warlords.
It shall never be well in the house of pdp till it ceases to exist as a party.

You ought to be non partisan, you are non rabid & too objective.. just be a sympathizer by the sideline.... smiley

As per the highlighted, when some of us here pointed the obvious pitfalls that making someone so encumbered the chairman of a party that needed more than anything to grovel & put their best foot forward before Nigerians, some who feel they are NL political pundit of life embarked on a massive PR/ embellishment programme in order to convince the fence sitters.........

The long & short of it is GREED, blind ambition & total disregard for due process bred this impasse....

This drama is so interesting & there is no denouement in sight.
