Benson Idonijie at 80 Celebration begins from today June 16 to June 19 at various venues, including MUSON Centre and Freedom Park on Lagos Island and Lagos State University (LASU) in Ojo. The famous music critic and veteran journalist who was once the manager of Fela is also launching three books, including "Dis Fela Sef: The Untold Legends of Fela" on the legendary King of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memory and books on Highlife and Jazz. There will be a special documentary film by Femi Odugbemi, live musical concerts and symposia. Benson Idonijie is the grandfather of sensational Nigerian hip hop artiste, Burma Boy.
