This is a very big achievement to Kelechi Nwakali and of course to the Nigeria Football Federation as our junior team players are being drafted into senior teams at club level. Kelechi Nwakali, who is now the captain of the Nigeria U20 team, the Flying Eagles, has added to the list of the fast improving Nigerian starlets like his namesake, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac success, Musa Muhammed, Alexandra Iwobi, among others who have all been playing topflight football in Europe at the age below 20.Kelechi was 17 when he was voted and awarded the Most Valuable Player in the last concluded World FIFA U17 tournament that was held in Chile last year, although he was equally presented with a bronze medal as the third highest goal scorer for the tournament but was later retrieved from him and given to his teammate, Chukwueze Samuel who also had the same number of 3 goals but was the first to reach 3 goals.

It is a clear fact to football fans that Arsenal FC and Arsene Wenger do give young talented players the opportunity to prove themselves, and as such, Kelechi who just turned 18 yesterday has been promoted to the senior team, age of 18 and above is the prerequisite for any young player to feature in the Premiership.

The 18-year-old posed with Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger and the former Arsenal and Super Eagles skilful striker, Kanu Nwakwo , Arsenal Legend, Thiery Henry, Arsenal's pass-maestro, Mesut Ozil and Emmanuel Emenike as he prepares to start matches at the Emirates Stadium in London.

We need to push Pinnick out of a plane with no parachute.

Then ensure that someone who cares about football and isn't there for political reasons is given the position.

Then restructure the NFF so that there is openness and transparency as to how much is received and how much is spent.

And stop playing games in Kaduna when Nigeria has a great stadium in Abuja; another in Uyo; a good venue in Port Harcourt; another in Calabar.

Finally, the NFF needs to put pressure on the Federal Government to sell the National Stadium in Lagos - it's an eye sore at the moment but it could be developed into another world class stadium. It could be the home of Nigerian football once again.

I'm sorry to be the one to dampen the optimism on this thread, but this piece of news isn't true.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Nwakali to do well, but false news reports like this one won't help him. He won't get into the Arsenal senior team until maybe 2 years from now, cause he has to work on his all round game before he can.

Let's not be like the British and put pressure on our young talents. They need to grow in the game and they will do that better out of the spotlight.
