Titanium38: Hell no. I went to college in Ilorin for my first degree in the mid 90's. At the time it was very peaceful and cheap. Plus my 1000 naira allowance per year went a long long way. Also their wara was a good substitute for meat. You can't beat that. |

Go To Pan Atlantic University (pau) Or Covenant Uni (cu) Make Your Comparison Fair And Logical, But I Think We Produce Architects And Urban Et Regional Planners Every Year, Where Are They? I Am Always Displeased When I Walk On Streets, Perhaps. We Should All Go And Squat In Togo Or Niger While They Demolish & Rebuild Nigeria. Nice Idea. What Do You Think? 1 Like 1 Share |

sukkot: How can you be in whiteman's land and have no white man to show us? Are you scared? Better stop socialising on Nairaland go enjoy your new environment. I'm serious, because this Nairaland Internet can just addict you and you'll have no real life American friends. Go make American friends now. If possible, Native American - Red Indian people. |

UuzbaGuuzba: Students in the west don't all collect loans. In fact it's not hard to get free schooling here. But the ones who do take loans, their investment is more likely to pay off than the useless Nigerian degree paid in full. |

maternal: Well, the western world students go to University KNOWING that they are the ones to change the world. When Bill gates went to Harvard, there was no Microsoft. There was no tablet, no laptop, no Windows phone, No Nokia... He knew that if he wanted to see these thing IN THIS WORLD, he had to study hard and MAKE THEM stating from Microsoft DOS 1.0 Same thing with Steve Jobs.. And the Facebook boy, Zuckerberg. Basically, I didn't give 2shits about gossiping about girls when I was in Uni. But Zuckerberg gave so much shit about it that he hacked into the school admissions record where he laid hold of all the students personal information and pictures (profile). This is what he pasted on his website as Facebook. 2004. Today we are all enjoying it. It's just a gossip website which basically favours guys viewing fine girls. The point is, go to university with a mindset of creating something that does not exist or maintaining a good thing that does or improving a bad one. Gates improved IBM. Your environment will reflect your mindset. If you think the Nigeria degree is useless, then drop out. Nobody is forcing you. What matters most, can you provide for your family and make your home, school, state or country better through any other means? Bill gates also thought his University degree was rubbish. Hence he dropped out. And he Facebook boy too.. It's not the Degree, It's your mind. |

sukkot: Don't you play World of Warcraft? Killing maiming? Is it not in USA that someone just goes to the class room, and starts shooting other students? Cinema shooting? Hostage taking? Are they not the ones that carried off black people in ships flogging shegey off peoples backs for over 200-300years? The Native Americans have refused to be bullied like they did to black people. I was in UK and the first day I entered their toilet, their hhhmmmm smelt exactly the same as ours. We are not bush people. We just lack a visionary leader who will explain to us why we live together and what we need to show the world. UK people all want to show the world that they can speak English and write and invent. That's. what spurs them on. Americans want to show that they can don without UK and go to space and invent computers. Chinese want to show the world that they can survive on very little. Cheap labour, cheap products. Japanese watnt to to show off Voltron and every robotic thing that can be robotised. Indians want to show they can dance and feel happy regardless of caste and religion. Nigerians are just trying. It is not easy coming to agreement with 300 other different languages and tribes. There was one post here recently listing all the languages spoken in Nigeria,- about 300. I'm sure if there was 300 different languages in USA, they will just collapse. When they began the country, there was just maybe English and Spanish. 2 languages. If you are the president of Nigeria, how will you address a board meeting of 300 senators each of which speaks one individual verified language? |
