The present Local Government Transition Committee in Akwa Ibom State which tenure expires next month would soon be dissolved and a new Committee set up to administer the councils pending the conduct of election for the third tier of government.

The State Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel announced this during the June edition of monthly prayer meeting held at Latter House Chapel, Governor's Lodge, Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel premised the proposed dissolution on the need to align with the constitutional provisions regulating Local Government Administration in the state and said that the new Committee would comprise men of requisite pedigree and proven integrity who would be selected from various zones in their respective area councils to avoid acrimony.

He dispelled as rumour the purported reshuffle of the State Executive Council peddled by a section of the media and called on those serving in that capacity to carry out their duties with renewed zeal and diligence.

Governor Emmanuel informed the people that despite the reduction in the fiscal allocation accruing the state, his administration would continue to ensure that the welfare of its work force is given priority and that he would deploy his expertise to ensure that workers salaries are paid and that projects earmarked for execution are carried out for the benefit of the people.

Mr. Emmanuel however wandered the source of the whopping allocation the State is said to receive as speculated and urged the people to crosscheck their facts in order not to misinformed the people for their selfish interest.

The Governor announced that fabrication for syringe Manufacturing and Coconut Refinery are on course and would soon be installed at the sites and that God has made provision for the state to survive the economic challenges stress that the challenge is to rekindle the entrepreneurial spirit in us.

In his sermon, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Rev. Daniel Akwatang charged the people to reconcile with God noting that Nations have either by omission or commission offended God by enthroning carnality and other bastial lifestyle which tends to attract the prevailing drought in economy of the world.

Reverend Akwatang who culled his text from the Book of Isiah Chapter 32 verse 9 said that spiritual complacency attracts a closed heaven and that poverty is an indicator of the consequences of sin.

While calling on people to seek God in repentance for healing and material breakthrough, the Minister thanked God for the vision and guidance of the Governor which has enabled him to discharge the programmes envisioned despite the economic crunch.

The service which featured song rendition, prayers for the state, nation and various arms of government was attended by the first family, members of the State Executive Council and other appointees in the government.

Extremely Lazy everything Akpabio built is decaying, because of lack of maintenance! Dirty streets, overgrown grasses, dead street lights!

Udom is a scam and an impostor, Akwa Ibom people did not vote for him!

Akwa Ibom is now a state with no direction yet instead of focusing to govern, he is all over the place with his sychophants spreading propaganda of industrialization.

The transition committee that are about to be sacked were very useless. All of them did nothing even to sweep the streets. The streets are now very dirty and most of them do not even go to work. They all relocated to Uyo from their Local Government Councils.

It's a shame that Akwa Ibom is part of a state that is looking for bailout, a state that used to get between N20bn - N30bn every month during the oil boom all thanks the trickster of uncommon transformation, Godswill Akpabio. He made most people in Nigeria to believe that Akwa Ibom was 'okay', so what suddenly happened?

Another set of compensation on the way because the new council charimen will still do nothing!

Please what is the job role of this SA? Sometimes our leaders behave like they didn't pass through the four walls of primary school.

He's a puppet to Akpabio na, what did you expect! Funny thing Akpabio achieved alot for Akwa Ibom......

If a Governor upon his winning the election, 1st project was to build his country home with tax payers money. Expect trouble and frauds. Udom has not achieved one single thing but the propaganda and brainwashing no be here. grin

my people perish cos of lqck of knowledge.

udom might be scam but he is far better than akpabio that brought us into this mess we r in.

dankemzi u get mind de compare udom'govt akpabio, u be big fool o.

how much is udom getting every month as allocation, how much was akpabio getting?
how many lg was there during akpabio, how many r there now?
what was civil servant strength then n what is it now?

these r stuffs u need to compare n contrast then u make ur assertion whether someone is bad or not.

if akpabio could be getting more than 20billion naira every month as allocation yet he left without paying civil servants salaries n backlog of arrears n pensioners. local govt went on strike during his tenure over unpaid salaries but there was enough money yet he did nothing. u dey get mind compare these 2.

1. Bros calm down na! Why the name calling? We the fight?

2. That's my bone of contention. During his election we heard of industrialization this industrialization this... Udom was elected to continue the transformation agenda, but of late the governor his as clueless as.

Have you asked your self how much Akwa Ibom is generating internally.
Why wait for allocation when the state has so many strategic economic prowess to key into?

Do you that Akwa Ibom can't produce a single bathroom slippers We buy everything from Aba even key soap

Akwa Ibom is not and should not be a civil servants state! Do you know how much Akwa Ibom would have been making through tourism
Take Ibeno beach as a case study, if the government key into branding, sponsorship and infrastructure and necessary ameneties we wouldn't be waiting for allocation

how much is igr of akwaibom?

how much is state allocation?

how much is needed to revamp n remodel ibeno beach?

how much is in the coffers of the state at the moment?

did the last govt drop any money for the new govt to use in kick starting its govt?

how much debt did the previous govt left for the new govt?

is the new govt insensitive to workers plight n other basic responsibilities saddled with it?

when u correlate all these then u will know whether the govt is working or not.

ibeno has money, yet they dont know that they can still make more monies by doing certain things that will add value and also generate more monies to that local govt area.

the problem with africa leaders is they tend to know the problems but the solution is always a serious problem to them.

i dont blame udom nor akpabio nor attah, i blame myself for not contesting in the last election.
