The chairman of Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Lawal Buhari Daura has ordered the immediate suspension of a primary school head master and a class room teacher for absenteeism.

Daura gave the directive to suspend the headmaster, Abdu Wada, and classroom teacher, Ibrahim Isyaku, when he visited Misra Primary School in Maiadua LGA and found out that the duo were absent.

He frowned at the attitude of the teachers and noted that the Board would not condone truancy and absenteeism.

Daura, who was on an inspection tour of primary schools across the state, urged teachers to support the government’s drive to reposition primary education, insisting that acts inimical to the drive would not be tolerated.

Erlier in a remark, the education secretary for Maiadua LGA, Usman Umar said the suspended teachers had a record of being absent.
