All hospital and labs work 24/7

Not true, labs don't work 24 hours. I've confirmed that St Gregory diagnostic does not open during weekends., and they close 12noon on public holidays.

Good morning wonderful people

Please I have been experiencing light spotting for 3 days now and my period is suppose to be due in 2days from today.
Because I have been so nervous and waiting for it to become heavy in order to ascertain my period came earlier than expected.
As anyone experienced this before?

Good evening mamas
Thank you for all you do. I got married last year but I have been having irregular periods since January. Spotting on actual day of period for a few days followed by light flow for one day and back to spotting. Doctors in this town have been telling it’s normal to miss period for a few months and I should go and come back when I see the period. Thank God for this thread.
I did TVS in January which showed simple right ovarian cyst.
Did hormonal profiling this month on the 3rd day of my cycle (for only that day since my period has become irregular). Followed by another TVS today.
Based on the result and everything I have been reading here, I have bought
Parlodel
Folic Acid
Vitamin E
Evening Primerose
Vitamin D3
Omega 3
Please am I on track, is there anything else I need to do or take. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Also, pharmacist’s recommended dosage for Parlodel is once a day for 3 days, followed by one weekly. Please Is that fine?

I don't think you should just strat taking parlodel on your own, without telling you so, that self medicating, when your ttc you don't need that,it can seriously mess up hormones or other things in your body, the rest are vitamins you can take on your own but once it comes to drugs stick to the doctor

Thank you Soft Precious.
Are you saying there are side effects to Parlodel? I haven’t gone back to the hospital because they were not helpful in the initial diagnosis, still looking for a good hospital here. I took my results to the pharmacist who then prescribed everything I bought after checking my blood sugar level. Does that still count as self medication?

all drugs have side effects, parlodel has it's own side effects,a pharmacist is not a doctor, especially in Nigeria,so if your ttc I advice get a good doctor

I think you should see a specialist/gynecologist
For a ttc lady, your prolactin should be below 25ng.

I’m glad you met a gynecologist.
I had same tvs scan result (polycystic ovary) last year and the doctor (not a gynecologist) told me he would give me an expensive injection that would ‘flush’ my system and make me new again lol but insisted it would be done in his own hospital.
I simply nodded, left there and continued taking my folic acid.

I wish you good results and baby dust smiley

Hi mama, it’s been a while I have been here, I can’t remember my other account password I had to open another account.
I quickly want to touch on something, let’s start putting egg freezing in mind mums, if you are in your thirties and still struggling with TTcing. Go and freeze your eggs sis.
It’s very important especially when you eventually want to go the ivf route. Women in the late 30s upwards find it hard to produce quality eggs.
I found all of this out because I just concluded my ivf rounds.
I Learnt alot from the experience, things I didn’t know about out reproductive organs as women.
Your eggs are as old as you are as a woman. And as you grow older the quality and quantity reduces.
Wishing us all the better of luck in this journey. It’s not an easy one.

Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Oyindamolah: 3:43am On May 01, 2023
Normozoospermia refers to a semen sample that fulfills the semen criteria as per WHO (World Health Organization) Manual for Human Semen Analysis (6th Edition 2021). It simply means that the semen parameters like sperm count, motility, and morphology are normal.
