I agree that's why they voted out. They don't want a mass influx of Islamic refugees. With the terrorist attacks happening over Europe, the UK could be at risk. |

OluKayy:the UK was fine during the pre EU days because she was a major colonial power whose territories stretched across different time zones (this prowess earned them the accolade: " the empire where the sun never sets"  and they heavily siphoned resources from their overseas colonies to build a robust economy. but all those privileges are gone now and UK's economy was only supplemented by the free trade agreement with the EU, since that is also gone, Britain has eventually become an isle "drifting" off the coast of prosperity. |

"^^^^^^ Agreed, but it is human nature to adapt and maneuver through such challenges. Don't forget U.K is still a global power. Their economic thinkers are not daft. Companies won't outrightly be pulling out investments like that. Business continues as usual, what changes are requirements & revisiting terms. Norway and Switzerland are not in the EU, yet they export far more per capita to the EU than the UK does; this suggests that EU membership is not a prerequisite for a healthy trading relationship. Britain’s best trading relationships are generally not within the EU, but outside, i.e. with countries such as the USA and Switzerland. The largest investor in the UK is not even an EU country, but the US. So they'll be fine. Manufacturing sector would bounce back and they can now determine how to curb immigration issues without being restrained by EU treaties. |
