There's always positives ti be gotten from any ban. the decisions that the soccer chiefs are taking now is good enough. What I'm worried about is continuity and consistency in applying both the anti-poaching and anti-diving rules uniformly. This is coming quite late, but I believe it is justified. While the present management at Chelsea have mostly kept their nose clean in recent times, their previous behavior was always in danger of catching up with them. We had the whole Mikel Obi saga, Emmanuel Sarki and a few under youngsters at Lyn Oslo, their breach of rules when they poached Frank Aernesen from Spurs before paying "hush money" to quit the matter. Not to mention the "Cashley Cole" incident. amongst numerous incident where they have dealt with unscrupulous agents and shown a general disregard for the rules governing the transfer market or contracts. Its funny to think that it is the least publicized of their previous transgressions that has landed them in the "dog house".

1. This is conclusive proof that UEFA does have a vendetta against us. What we did was wrong and unjustifiable, BUT every club does it why us?? It brings back the Ovrebo affair, and makes you think it was a set up.

2. Despite this we can look at some positives. Our exciting young players such as Matic, Sinclair, Sturridge, Di Santo, Kakuta (who really owes it to us!), Woods, Cork, Hutchinson, Mancienne should all get their chance to break into the senior squad.

3. Fringe players, such as Kalou, Ivanovic, Alex, Ferreria, and the youngsters will not need to worry about being axed and this could go two ways, Some could become lazy and put less effort in, while some could play with more freedom and confidence.

4. If Chelsea knew something like this was going to happen, which i guess they must have, they will be confident that our squad is up to scratch, as they could have signed some players last week!

5. This should strengthen the squad and make them even more determined to win the Champions league, just to stick two fingers up to UEFA. Alternatively they could play within themselves, sulk and demand transfers, but lets not think about that!

6. A year and a half isn't that long, and if we appeal it may be less.

So don't panic, and enjoy watching a stable Chelsea win the league, with fresh enthusiasm.
