IT is enheartening that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has seen the need to engage some of the foreign embassies in Nigeria in discussions over the difficulties our citizens continue to face procuring visa to respective countries notably the United States, China, and the EU countries. The 'Mutual Collaborative Partnership on Consular Problems' is conceived as a series of meetings to ease the process of granting visa to intending travellers as well as address the humiliation that Nigerians are generally subjected to at these embassies.Guys wat do u think? http://www.nigeriamasterweb.com/paperfrmes.html |

Daft article. Why does the writer seek to make a disctinction between 'ordinary Nigerians' and 'high profile Nigerians'? Damn right there's country profiling. Do you know the high rate of defections made by Nigerians in the past? Or the number of applicants that turn up with papers prepared in Oluwole? PS: but it's not an easy process for expats to get a NIgerian visa. It took 2 months + for the dutch parents of an expat in my office to get a visa to Nigeria and he assures me that it's pretty much standard to expect serious delays and holdup when applying for a Nigerian visa. |

Very simple answer- Sort out your country first. Once this is done, they will come looking for nigerians. Up until Dec 2008,Singapore was visa on arrival for Nigerians, but no longer. . . .why do u think? I just wish they'd stop giving all these corrupt legislators, politicians & govt contractors visas |

i always say the MAJOR PROBLEM are those nigerians who refuse to play by the rules. Its the genuine applicants back home who will pay the price. |

Sad, but it's of our own doing. If women from Nigeria want to live in Europe (and can't get a proper visa), can't they just go there tell them they're in danger of female genital mutilation, and they'll get asylum? |
