[size=14pt]SaharaReporters Allegedly Plotting Campaigns To Defame Daura, Others And Cover Up Magu’s Corruption In EFCC[/size]

A news website based in the United States, SaharaReporters is said to be plotting a smear campaign with the intent of destroying the very good names of the minister of Interior, Gen Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), Director General of the State Security Service, Mr Lawal Musa Daura and and Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari.

Sources revealed that Sahara Reporters Media Group is to publish false stories that it hopes would damage the career of President Muhammadu Buhari’s loyalist who it sees as working against the confirmation of one ‘its corrupt backer’ and ‘paymaster’, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

One of those said to be investigating and exposing ‘the badly corrupt’ Assistant Commissioner of Police Magu, is the Director General of Department of State Services, Lawal Musa Daura and Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to reliable sources in the Presidency, the online news group located in New York is threatened by the exposé made against Magu of EFCC. Informant claim that the Acting Chairman of EFCC has become a sadist, following the death of his cousin years back, who usually conceal his corrupt loots during his first posting to the EFCC.

Trouble started, when Magu approached the family of his late cousin for a return of his proxy assets, and was turned down by the deceased family, who claimed they knew nothing about his dealings with their father.

The news media has refused to investigate the claims made against Magu, instead it is set to “sponsor and publish different allegations against those wishing to expose Magu.”

Details of this plot by Sahara Reporters came to light, when a well-known Nigerian online editor who was approached to cascade a damaging publication against the Minister of Interior, et al, reached out to Adenike Lucas.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the popular editor revealed that Sahara Reporters is cooking a massive damming story, with the aim of diverting attention from the corruption case building up against Magu and the National Security Adviser Mohammed Babagana Monguno.

A detailed discussion with a serving EFCC Officer revealed that there was a diversion of troop’s allowance, when Monguno headed the Peace Keeping troops, totalling about $1m. This money was frozen by the Economic Governance Unit of the EFCC, which was formerly indirectly headed by Magu (Monguno’s God son) during the tenure of Ibrahim Lamorde.

Sahara Reporters relies heavily on EFCC Police sources for exclusive stories, and is keen to get rid of those digging into the allegation of corruption against the anti- corruption agency’s Acting Chairman who was indicted by the DSS over links with Air Commodore Umar Muhammed (rtd.), said to have been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) for massive fraud.

In retaliation for the indictment against Magu and Monguno, the news medium is bent on smearing the image of the President’s loyalist which includes General Tukur Brutai who has been leading an effective offensive against Boko Haram insurgency.
