A Michigan woman faces first-degree murder charges and the case may hinge on whether or not a parrot named Bud can testify in court.

Glenna Duram was arraigned in court in connection to the shooting death of her husband Martin Durham.

Durham was shot five times and killed in his home in 2015.

After he died, Bud went to live with the victim's ex-wife, Christina Keller.

Soon after, Bud began mimicking what some believe to be a conversation that happened between the victim and the suspect that ended with "don't fu cking shoot."

The family believes the bird witnessed the crime.

"I personally believe, think he was there and he remembers it and he was saying it," the victim's father told NBC News Chicago.

The parrot's current owner says Glenna Durham deserves to be in jail.

"Seeing her in that is the place where she definitely belongs," Keller told NBC. "To cold-bloodily kill Marty like she did."

The prosecutor in the case expects to have a decision soon on whether or not the parrot's testimony will be allowed as evidence.
