Nigerians across all works of life have continued to react to the news that the chief of army staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai has been cleared of all allegations that he owns assets outside the country. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Whatsapp Buratai has been accused of acquiring properties in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates with money allegedly diverted from a vehicle contract scam. Buratai has been in the news following a leak by Sahara Reporters which revealed that the army chief acquired some properties in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates with money allegedly diverted from a vehicle contract scam. The allegation that Buratai might have pilfered funds meant for the purchase of military vehicles came to limelight after soldiers and officers, especially those from the northeast part of the country petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him to order an investigation into the contract scam. The news of the contract scam also sparked outrage among Nigerians who demanded that Buratai be investigated for alleged graft. Following the outcry generated by the scandal, the federal government in a statement on Tuesday, June 28, said it had concluded investigations on the top military officer and he has been vindicated as his assets and military acquisitions are being shown to be based on capital market principles of shareholding. According to the statement: “Government, after investigating a recent media report over the acquisition of property in Dubai, by General Buratai, discovered that he and his wives invested as “shareholders,” like many other persons in the property mentioned in the publications and were not sole owners. If you know the property being referred to, you would know that they are like quoted companies. You buy into them and get dividends as profit from your investments. You can also do your own private findings on this fact.”

First it was savings, now na shares and all na FG dey defend him. Wonderful!

Nigerians, they are telling you now that you are free to steal so far you use the money to buy shares and put the rest in your savings account before using it to buy properties anywhere in the world. Anytime you are caught, tell your lawyers to use Gen. Burutai case as an example.

If he bought the said house with money from his share, o boy eeeehhhh! Dasuki na learner.

How much was bank shares sold at initial offering? How much was bought?
How much did he sell it now after the share has lost over 60% of its initial offering price?

If the house is worth $1m and he got that from his shares. Then he must have bought that same share nothing less than $30m. Just thinking aloud.

Lol

I think General Brutal, Brutai should be investigated thoroughly, and if found guilty he should be made to face the full wrath of law . We need to be sure his source of wealth isn't part of the arm fund looted by Dasuki ATM and his thieving crews for that will so much dent the good reputation he has built so early for himself .

******
By the way i sensed that some elements here derived so much pleasure from General Brutai's current woes . They keep protesting and agitating for his prosecution , but what baffled me is the fact that this same people never come out to commend or applaud him for his obvious good efforts in fighting and combating the dreaded Boko haram sects to a stand still , a fit the previous administration couldn't achieve .
Ain't that hypocrisy ?
Technically, NOW we all know the real enemy of the Nation .

Why the haste in defence of Buratai by the FG? I thought FG has instructed DHQ to investigate as inhouse. The FG is pre empting DHQ. Corruption in high places.
