As he lies
In confines of healer’s home
In far away land
With coarse hands
Of flesh and blood guzzler
Battling with healer’s herbs
To claim and cage
His fighting spirit,
Gunshots from this land,
Land of his fore fathers
Continue to salute the lion,
To salute Gani Fawehimi.
Warriors
Wait to welcome him
To this rugged terrain,
To this land
Robbed of endowments
And thrown
Into cesspool of poverty,
To swim and sink
In deprivation.
