SGF Demands Saraki's Resignation by Hardeysolution(m): 7:23am On Jun 30, 2016
Abuja - The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal has strongly urged Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu to resign from their posts immediately in light of their forgery charges, Vanguardreports.
The Senate reacted to Lawal by saying that the two principal officers of the Senate would in no way resign insisting that it was being attacked by the executive arm of government in the ongoing trial.
Lawal debunked these claims in saying that the Senate was not on trial, but instead only the individuals suspected in committing the forgery.
In a statement personally signed, Lawal stated that the honourable thing to do was for Saraki and his deputy to resign as their positions were now contradictory to the Senate.
He also called the accusations against the Federal Government as ridiculous as it had no influence over the trial.
Buhari and Ekweremadu alongside the former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa, and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi were charged with criminal conspiracy and forgery of the Senate Standing Rules, 2015.
Buhari has also sought out international intervention in his forgery trial, calling it an injusticeby saying that Nigeria's democracy was on trial. It was reported that the Presidency rubbished reports by Saraki that President Muhammadu Buhari was operating a "government within a government".
The Presidency responded in an official statement saying that the allegations wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

SGF must be high to suggest that Saraki and Ekweremadu should resign because of an alleged forgery case against them. He would have had a point if he had suggested that Buhari should also resign for alleged certificate forgery and perjury case against him. They want others to be selfless and upright but not themselves.

He is not No 5 at all. The CJN is No 5 by the amended protocol. Buhari is No 1, VP No 2, Saraki No 3 and Dogara No 4. This man is a political appointee and can be sacked even verbally by his pay master!
