In view of recent spot attacks in Yorubaland it is without doubt evident that the security forces have failed in their statutory mandate.

Money is budgeted to fight crime. So how do we explain that tax payers and innocent citizens are not getting protection from criminals?

OPC is not on budget, federal, state or local. Therefore it is not OPC's job or mandate to protect citizens, that's the job of Nigerian Armed Services.

Yorubas who are grieving the attacks on their region should advocate for an alternative to security forces and agitate powerfully for regional and state police.

If OPC is given statutory mandate and budgetary concessions to protect Yorubaland they will excel in the role.

i agree.... but funding the opc controlled by individuals willl be tantamount to creating another NDA. howevet the essence of opc is for local policing.which will be good.
