Suspects who had besieged the entrance of Abia State government house scare members of the public with suspicious materials -were nabbed yesterday evening by the security men who mounted watch at the entrance of the government house following a tip off. The suspects who were driven in a Hilux van was said to have been sent by some disgruntled elements in the state following the verdict of Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court Abuja, on Monday 27th June, 2016 which ruled for the removal of the executive Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the issuance of certificate of return by INEC to Mr. Uche Oga. The Governor had however, on receipt of the judgment directed his legal team which filed a suit for stay of execution of the judgement and had obtained a court injunction restricting any Judge from swearing in anybody as governor until the case is heard and decided. That is called Mkponala, it is explosive firework device used during celebrations to herald the arrival of an important dignitary at an event or the corpse of a prominent Igbo person home for burial. Perhaps they are planning to welcome Uche Ogah in a BIG way and the sitting government cannot take that as it will look like bestowing so much honour and giving credibility to Uche in line with Igbo culture. ChangeIsCostant: You are not Igbo, so you will never understand. While I dont vouch for either Uche or Okezie; the facts must be layed bare on things like this; politics aside. The reality is that Okezie supporters will not allow that banger to be exploded. Anyone who calls those gun powder knock-outs 'strange materials' need to be properly educated on the traditions of the SS/SE.
