WhatsApp has over 1 billion active users and is dubbed the most used chat app in the world. Unknown to many, WhatsApp has added 7 more existing new features to its latest version 2.16.141 beta.

Some of you may have been noticing a few of the new features and it touch several aspects within the app. Here are the features:

Notification for missed call in Chat

Before the new feature, when you miss calls from a contact, you will find all missed call list on the calls tab but with the new feature, if you miss a call from a contact and you see a notification for missed call in the timeline of the contact when text chatting with the contact.

Olympic Games emoji

Olympic is set to hold this year in the heart of Brazil’s 2nd largest city Rio de janeiro, in support for one of the most viewed games in the world, WhatsApp has added the Olympic emoji to its game emoji tab so you can start sharing your mood in anticipation of the games.

Disapproval message for unsupported phones

Earlier this year, WhatsApp said it will not continue to support old operating systems such as the Android 2.1 and 2.2 by the end this year. Just incase you haven’t upgraded yet, WhatsApp have gone ahead to implement its word in this new update. Though this hasn’t been rolled out yet but you will receive this error message.
