°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°Back side of the flag°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Darkness is looming
Our nightmares are becoming reality
Shadows of fears grip the land
The king has been replaced with a pawn
Will the sun ever. Shine again?
Oh my country, oh my nation
Your white has been tainted with black spot.
The two horses live no longer in peace
My country, pray for thou
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
State treasury filled with thieves
State security pockets fed with tips
The streets are filled with rogues
Daily they roam in in thousands
Lips of the pastor smeared with lies
Remains of morality perched by flies
Oh my dear country
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The rich are getting richer
The poor can't afford bread
Politicians sits on an ocean of wealth
Starvation fills the belly of the common man
Kill him!! Kill him!! That's a man who stole his daily bread
Honour him!! Honour him!!! That's a man who just stole the country's bread
Oh my country, who are thou to blame
Your lack of creativity or greediness
My nation! My pride
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A first class graduate can't read fluently
That intelligent son of yours is a blockhead
The lecturers passes only their pocket
The rich pays for grade
The poor prays for grace
Bimbo paid with kind
Oh my country.. How great art thou
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The singing birds are no more
Our early morning greeted by the mourning of the town crier
Blood flows fill the smoky sky
Drums sound of war deafening the little girls ear
Coal leave scar on the faces of our men
It our land!!!! it our oil!! They cry in unison
We are being marginalized they tell their sons
Western education is forbidden, they preach to their people
Which way my dear country?
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Focus on what you have
The white are only there for self interest
They will laugh @ you when you defecate
The media will see you drowning and take pictures
No one cares about you my dear country
Drag yourself out of the mud of shame
I pledge to be loyal to you my country
Nigeria my father land•

2. •••••••••••A MERCURIAL FUTURE••••••••••••

My strength goes underneath my fears
My joy masked in my tears
What I am unto I have no idea
But further and further still I dare
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sweet memories lightens up my world
What the future entails frighten up my mind
Debris of customs and traditions sighs mournfully
The fresh scent of the future breathes hopefully
A feeling and euphoria nd despondency sings in union
Up in my ear they spill their opinion
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Just few years back, he salivated about getting married
Just few years after, he his weighed down by d marriage crosses he carried
Gradually the hairy man has gone bald
His marriage still lies @ the mercy of time
The deed of his better half slay him mercilessly
Joy abound as he watched his kids grow gradually
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Our night shades get younger as time grow old
The mind can't fathom what the future holds
Things are going to slide
In all direction they will take their sides
Forgiveness reunite them at the peak of the quarrel
Love tightens them at the end of the tunnel
What the future holds at hand, to the mind lies its mystery
And when it unfolds its joy or misery

************LINDA'S BLUE BIRD************

Little bird melodious tales
The old woman interesting songs
Songs and tales full of fallacy
Fallacy that fell the almighty iroko
Don't listen to what she preaches
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••the little bird is at it again
She say all that comes to mind
True and untrue
Radio without battery
So the people call her
Amebo nigeria so I call her
linda ikeji, so she takes her glory
Don listen to her fairy tales
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
This little bird again!!
Hunters cocking their dane gun
Just incase she came flying over their roof top
She will be food for hunters one day
We will gather round to eat her meat one day
she might be to little to fill the belly of the community
But she fill them with rumors
Linda ikeji my little blue bird
Close your ear to her melodious song
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Be careful how you defecate on hunters head
Be careful the tales you tell for gold
Their shoulders you might need to rest upon
It might raise up dust till dawn
Your words might hunt u like a desperate vampire
Yout nest might be burnt by the wild fire
The wild fire you made
Be careful my little bird
Be wise linda ikeji•

*********Candle Tear Drop*********

Tender as I am
Dangerous I could me
Tall and glued to the open
My attire so spotless
My luminous soul they harness
Poised for relaxation, romanticism or perfect evening
Keep me burning is all I ask
Greater show of brightness, I am tasked
Warm and soothing
Melting, dripping with time passing
Deeply burn till there is no me anymore
Blown out by the ones I love
And my flames dance up above
It is a privilege to have your face magnified
Once gone, forgotten by those I sacrificed
Another of my kind now takes my place and position
Alas same fate awaits him with much anticipation
Stay here long
Shine more bright
Be my song
For all the night
From candle to wax
Let the candle stick weep
